A brand-new, industry-leading precision engineering facility.

Waters Corporation are world leaders in the production of analytical instruments and software. With over 7,800 employees worldwide and 1,00 in the UK and Ireland alone, this new facility marks a commitment to growth in the region.

The science centre in Longbridge will provide a 300% increase in available space compared to their existing premises in Solihull, and will create over a 100 new skilled jobs. It forms part of Longbridge Business Park, which is being built on the site of the former MG Rover West Works factory, and expects to create up to 5,000 jobs in the region.

CWC were appointed to provide technical advice and monitoring of the CAT A design and installation, then develop the detailed design for the CAT B installation, working closely with the client to meet the rigorous standards required to deliver industry leading scientific expertise and equipment. The new production facility includes an ISO 8 cleanroom and precision engineering grinding facility, as well as office, breakout and amenity spaces.
Close control air handling systems serve the clean room and quadrupole grinding facility, with packaged roof curb mounted air handling units with integrated DX for heating and cooling of the main production area. The design also incorporates compressed air and nitrogen distribution systems. Roof mounted PVs are provided to meet Part L 2021.

Construction is due to begin in early 2023, with the specialist centre scheduled to open in 2024.
