Obaid started his career 13 years ago as a mechanically biased building services engineer. He then specialised in building physics after developing a keen interest in buildings’ real world performance, compared to their intended performance.
He has worked for a number of consultancies and contractors and has extensive experience with both new and existing buildings. Obaid is particularly proud of his work on the West India Dock Road project where mechanical air conditioning was replaced with a mix mode system which ensured adequate thermal comfort levels.
