Sitting at the heart of the Manchester Metropolitan University complex, the new School of Digital Art (SODA) Building will support the growing demand for skilled workers in the region’s creative and digital industries. Offering a range of flexible courses developed with industry partners, SODA will produce over 1000 graduates annually to meet this need.

The school will house state of the art facilities including a digital innovation lab, green screens, edit suites, screening space, a media gallery and production studios.

Appointed to undertake the MEP detailed design, Crookes Walker are working with the specialist team from Drama by Design to integrate the audio-visual equipment into the building infrastructure.

Crookes Walker were selected by Dodd Group to bring the knowledge and expertise gained from working on Granada Studios to the project.

The project was shortlisted for the 2023 RIBA North West Awards.
