Vita’s first student development in Wales, Park Place features 401 self-contained studios over 18 floors with contemporary amenity and hub space. The structure incorporates a listed building into the design and sits adjacent to another listed building on a constrained site.

CWC were commissioned to develop the mechanical and electrical engineering services design, and to oversee the services installation through to completion.
The project challenges include the close proximity of Stuttgarter Strasse and local attractions. Utilising extensive Dynamic Simulation Modelling, CWC examined the development for overheating risks when assessed against CIBSE TM52, with the final solution employing a mixture of natural and mechanical ventilation strategies.
The project had to meet Welsh Part L requirements, which has been achieved by optimising the building fabric performance and employing Low and Zero Carbon strategies, including Combined Heat & Power (CHP).
Opening in 2022, this landmark building will be the highest quality student accommodation in Wales.
